How should I care for my candle?
Share
With a little care, your candle will burn more beautifully and you’ll get to enjoy its fragrance for longer.
Before each burn, trim the wick to around 5 mm. A shorter wick helps keep the flame steady and reduces excess soot.
When lighting your candle for the first time, let the wax melt evenly across most of the surface before extinguishing it. This helps prevent tunnelling and encourages a more even burn next time.
Always place your candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface, away from drafts, curtains and other flammable objects. Keep it out of reach of children and pets, and never leave a burning candle unattended.
Avoid burning your candle for excessively long periods at once. If the flame becomes unusually large, flickers strongly or produces smoke, extinguish the candle, allow it to cool and trim the wick before relighting.
When only a small amount of wax remains at the bottom of the container, stop burning the candle.
Summary:
- trim the wick before lighting when necessary;
- place the candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface;
- keep it away from drafts, children, pets and flammable objects;
- never leave a burning candle unattended;
- follow any specific instructions provided with your candle.
